Another normal still-wintery day in the Village. At least Arashi's mood has been marginally better now that he knows his 'pet' isn't dead.

Which means all three Waltzes are back to perching in a group - for now on top of the bakery again. Mostly because it's warm there, but also because Mr. 44 just finished a batch of cookies and they're eating some.

"I don't think we should tell the bigger Mages we killed things, or they might not let us go anywhere with you again."

"I'll leave that up to you... but what did you think of it?"

"I thought the monsters were stupid to attack us. They should have known we'd kill them."

"They're animals, they don't think about it." Nevermind that they were being forced.

"Most animals know better," says Arashi, feathers fluffing just a bit. "We couldn't even look around anywhere we went without the stupid things getting in the way." He hates having things get in his way.

"If you want to look around next time, I could speed things up." It'd only take one spell from him to kill those things~

"Then what would we do? There wasn't anything there except for the stupid monsters..." He trails off as that actually sinks in.

"We were there to see the monsters, weren't we. You wanted to see us fight. Why?"

"Yes." Didn't he say that earlier? Well, if not, he meant to... but too late now.

"Why?" repeats the little Waltz, feathers fluffing just a bit.

"Because you need practice."

The feathers fluff even more, and the little Waltz's tone is about as icy as a room Mistral's been napping in. "I need practice in killing things, do I?"

"All of you do." And oh~ he hates hearing a Waltz talk to him like that. :|

Arashi doesn't look particularly happy himself. In fact, the only other time the Waltzlet looked this angry today was when Mistral's ice wall went up and kept them from killing the second Axe Beak. There's a crackle of static as he moves his wings.

"I don't need to know how to kill," he almost growls. "I need to know how to stop." And while old impulses in his mind won't let him attack Kuja - and deep down he probably doesn't really want to, he's just angry again - they do nothing for him flying off in a snit and casting a thunder spell at the ground some two feet in front of Kuja as a warning not to follow.

He won't go after the Waltz, even if he could. Seeing as he doesn't have wings...

Instead he'll start heading back to the Nexus.
