Another normal still-wintery day in the Village. At least Arashi's mood has been marginally better now that he knows his 'pet' isn't dead.

Which means all three Waltzes are back to perching in a group - for now on top of the bakery again. Mostly because it's warm there, but also because Mr. 44 just finished a batch of cookies and they're eating some.

Another Kuja invasion of the village! It's the same as last time, him stepping through the door and waiting.

The Waltzlets on the roof look over, but don't leave their warm perch and cookies yet.

This time it's Mikoto guarding the door, in sensible black dyed over pink that makes her really stand out against the snow. She doesn't say anything to him, though.

And, inevitably, the Hatchlings cheer and glomp!

Someone he can actually talk to. "Is there always a guard here?"

And he lets the hatchlings hug, of course.

As for the Hatchlings, they hug and snuggle as usual. And then one reaches to attempt tail-petting! In front of Mikoto, oh noes!

"Good... I'm guessing nothing dangerous has ever come through." Other than him. :o

Better than talking to the Mages. He just nods at her, figuring she won't mind. And heading for the Waltzes now~

The hatchlings follow at least some of the way, but hang back and then return to their games in the snow when he gets too close to where the Waltzlets are perching.

They've finished their cookies, and are just sitting around on the roof.

All three of them being here might make it a little hard... he'd rather get Arashi alone.

But there's nothing he can do about that~. "Hello."

Unfortunately for that, they do tend to flock together when they're actually getting along. They flutter down off the roof to see what Kuja wants. Mistral bounces over for a quick hug, while Blaze finishes licking a little bit of jam off his fingers.

Well, if he has to... no reason he can't talk to all three!

"How are you?"

"We're ok," Mistral chirps. The other two soon nod in agreement, Arashi adding a wing-shrug to his nod in a 'so-so' fashion.

Thinking, and thinking quickly. The other two Waltzes might know that Arashi does need help controlling his temper (he's sure Mistral does, but Blaze?)... but still, the other two might not want to be left out. And he'd have to ask the older Mages first, if only to stop them thinking he's kidnapped their 'kids'. Wouldn't want Rydia coming after him~!

But first things first! "How would you like to go somewhere with me?"

Oh, Blaze figured it out after the other Waltz cast thunder on him once while they were out flying.

"Ok!" chirps Blaze almost immediately.

Mistral nods.

"Where?" asks Arashi.

"Here, on Gaia. Outside the village." A pause. "If no one minds." 'No one' being the ones raising the Waltzes.

Oooh, look at them perk up at the idea of getting out of here and going somewhere other than the Nexus.

"We don't mind at all," says Blaze. Subconscious pecking order at work - Ask the Mages for permission? Why? They're Waltzes.

"Is that safe?" Mistral asks, being the practical one again. "Humans aren't supposed to see us, or they might do something stupid."

"I meant the rest of the village." Something else he can help them work with!

A nod to Mistral. "There won't be any humans around. They aren't everywhere, you know."

"We haven't been out of the village before, except to the Nexus," Blaze says, "so how would we know where humans are."

"Oh, you mean tell Mr. 288 or Vivi?" says Mistral. After all, they're sort of in charge of the Mages, right. "Or Rydia?"

"If you want to tell Mikoto, you'll have to tell her yourself," Arashi adds, thinking of the other person sometimes found in charge. "We're not talking to her."

"...Someone should have told you." No one's teaching the Waltzes either? What a waste. :/

"No, not Mikoto." Considering she wants the Waltzes to be killed, from what he's heard before. "But the rest should know."

"I don't think any of them go anywhere," says Blaze. "Except to Condie Petie to trade. And there are just dwarves there, no humans."

Mistral looks around, fluttering up into a tree to see if he can spot anyone. He then lands again. "Vivi's over there," he says, pointing.

Arashi continues his silence so far.

"None of them? Not even the genomes?" Figures. >_>

Mistral gets a nod. He'll head that way soon~.

"Why would they," Blaze says. "They like it here."

And now he's going to go talk to Vivi!

A polite nod at Vivi, and the Waltzes might notice the Mage doesn't get quite as nice treatment as they and Mikoto did.

"Would you mind if these three left the village with me...?"
